The Parish of Glengarry, part of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa, was formed in December 2004 with two congregations, St. John’s South Lancaster, and St. Michael’s Maxville. The Parish serves the County of Glengarry together with regular members from Western Quebec and Cornwall.
While it is a young parish, the two congregations have over 100 years of local ministry experience. Our religious life is based around weekly Eucharists and Sunday School programs. These are augmented by informative and challenging Adult Christian Education programs that are pertinent to our daily life and to discipleship. The parish depends for many of its ministries on proactive lay leadership and participation. We work closely with other denominations in building a strong ecumenical ministry.
