The Anglican Church of St. John the Evangelist has served the local community around Lancaster, Ontario for over one hundred years. It was built in 1897 in memory of the late John McLennan. A detailed history can be found on the St. John's History page.

Since its expansion in 1993, the Church can comfortably accommodate 100 worshippers though some services have seen 120 or more. The new Church hall, built in 1998, provides space for a variety of activities. Due to its location, St. John’s is commonly referred to as “The Church in the Wildwood”.

Under the leadership of our incumbent, the Reverend Manassé Maniragaba, St. John’s provides a wide range of ministries both to our congregation and to the local and world-wide communities. We take pride that we are widely known as a welcoming, friendly Church.
